The Bangkok Post reports that the carrier will offer a daily flight from KS to KL using a 138-seat Airbus 319 with economy class tickets to cost around 8,500 Baht.

Suggestions are that the resort is to be located north of Chaweng and will consist of; a 250 room, five star resort with conference facilities; a sports academy and stadium; a four star hotel; and a complex of luxury apartments and villas.

The principal design firm is The Beaumont Partnership of Thailand with the development awarded to Club Koh Samui Development.

Locals appear skeptical that such a large project can be completed and highlighted that previous large-scale projects of this type had been planned in the past only to fall at an early hurdle.

Baan Arun is a gracious Thai-style villa built in one of the most sought after locations on Koh Samui. Part of an exclusive hilltop development, Samui Summit, the villa enjoys amazing views over lush green coconut plantations across to Big Buddha Bay and the neighbouring islands.

The steep climb to the property hints at the visual splendours to come. Ascending from Bangrak, where there are numerous inviting resorts and restaurants, is to enter another world, where monks can be heard chanting morning and evening, but where every modern Western luxury is provided.

The spacious villa is built to a grand scale and in fact comprises two separate buildings. The main building features a large living room open to a well equipped kitchen. There is also a formal dining area for eight people. On this level, large sliding windows open onto an attractive terrace with table and chairs for eight and a large gas barbecue. Two double bedrooms are situated below and these rooms also benefit from direct outdoor access, opening directly on to the pool deck.

The second building is given over entirely to sleeping quarters – the master bedroom on the top floor with a fourth bedroom below. While the master en suite boasts a wrap-around balcony and a bird’s eye view of the ocean, the lower bedroom opens directly on to the pool deck.

Of the villa’s four tastefully furnished double bedrooms, three have king-size beds, while the fourth has twin beds. All have large modern en-suite bathrooms with black slate tiles and glass-walled showers. The master bathroom features double washbasins within, plus an outdoor bathroom with rain shower and a sea view bathtub.

With all rooms facing out across the bay, the villa makes the most of its idyllic location. As do the outdoor areas. The stunning 15-metre kidney-shaped infinity swimming pool offers up celebrated sea views. Aside from sun loungers and umbrellas, the sandstone deck has been beautifully landscaped to include a natural rock waterfall and a sala incorporating a well-stocked bar. The whole is enfolded by well-kept tropical gardens overflowing with exotic and colourful plants and a mass of beautiful bougainvillea bushes.

Despite its out-of-this-world location, Baan Arun essentially offers guests a home-away-from-home experience. This is achieved through the design style, which is comfortable and inviting rather than ultra-modern or showy. Each room has been fully decorated right down to the rugs lining the floors and the pictures on the wall. It’s immediately obvious that Baan Arun has been designed for living rather than simply renting out, and as such it is superbly welcoming.

Vista Samui sits on an exclusive hillside development of high quality residential homes, with extraordinary views over the ocean and the famous landmark of the Five Islands. An ideal hideout for large families, the spacious villa offers up three en suite bedrooms, two livings areas (complete with the latest audio-visual systems and even a pool table) and superb outdoor facilities.

The villa entrance is grand and imposing, hinting at the luxuries within. The hallway has two sweeping wooden staircases on either side which wrap up and around to the upstairs landing area and add a sense of glamour. Vista guests can move easily between the two spacious living areas, the entertainment wing complete with pool table and bar, and the stylish dining area. Set behind the dining area is an ultra-modern fully fitted kitchen with black granite work surfaces over wooden units. There’s also a central island feature housing the chrome hob.

Glass doors to the pool terrace run the length of the home opening it up to the pool terrace and of course the fabulous views. Outside inviting sun beds surround the blue-tiled infinity swimming pool. To the right of the pool is a good sized Thai sala with relaxing day beds and behind this is a covered outdoor kitchen area, complete with a built-in gas barbecue.

The decor is stylish, tasteful and simple throughout. Modern comfortable furniture is complemented by the authentic Asian influence in the choice of accessories. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the upstairs bedrooms.

The exceptional master suite boasts a walk-in dressing area with built-in wardrobes, and an indulgent bathroom with twin sinks, a walk-in rain shower and a sunken Jacuzzi bathtub. The Lookout is a super stylish villa designed and decorated to the highest standard. It sleeps three couples or a large family with ample space to spare. There are three spacious bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, an outdoor sala with separate kitchen, Jacuzzi bathtubs, a private swimming pool, a dedicated audio/visual room and, to top it all off, a truly spectacular sea view.

The secluded property is reached via a steep road that weaves its way through forested mountainside. Throughout the home, whether from the dramatic hallway, the main living room or each of the three bedrooms, the panoramic ocean view is the main decorative focus.

Guests will want to make the most of the fabulous outdoor areas: designed for relaxing, catching the rays, dining intimately or entertaining. To the left of the blue-tiled infinity pool is the most used area of the home; a large, covered sala with inviting day beds and a kitchen with an island feature and built-in barbecue. There’s also a sink and an outdoor fridge.

In this exceptional property there is plenty of communal and private space available. While the main living room is glass-fronted, opening onto the pool deck, there is also a dedicated AV room, with a projector and screen. Blackout blinds and curtains make it the perfect room for movie watching or playing games day or night.

The dining area, which comfortably seats six, is conveniently placed adjacent to the outstanding modern kitchen. All necessary western appliances are built-in and there’s a central island feature which houses the gas hob and also doubles as a breakfast bar.

The bedrooms are reached by the grand double staircase. Again the upstairs living area is accessorised with a blend of contemporary and more traditionally Asian ornaments and artworks. In the exquisite master-suite, the first thing you notice is the huge four-poster bed, which faces the viewpoint balcony. The Pavilions offers a luxury serviced villa for rent throughout the year. Part of a small, exclusive complex of six villas positioned around our magnificent freeform pool and jacuzzi.

Set among the coconut groves, The Pavilions’ tropical gardens perfectly complement the beautiful surroundings.

Each double bedroom has it’s own independent air-conditioning control. Two of the bedrooms have access to the balcony and one of those (the master bedroom) has an en-suite wetroom. One of the double room can be configured as a twin room if required.

Chaweng is only a ten minute drive away and has a great many excellent restaurants. However, should you wish to dine in for the evening, the kitchen has everything you would expect of a family kitchen including all the cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, oven, hob, and fridge-freezer. The dining area is visible from the kitchen through the modern open plan living area and can easily accommodate all guests around the dining table. Alternatively, dine out under the stars making use of the pool-side sala.

After a hard days lounging around the pool, you always have the option to relax in front of the television. Just in case, we offer a full home entertainment system, with a flat screen TV, DVD surround sound, and satellite television. Sometimes ideal for keeping the kids amused!
